Moms on the Run inspires and transforms women through a healthy lifestyle of fitness, fun and friendship. We offer instructor-led fitness programming to women of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you’re training for your first 5K, training for a longer distance, want to increase your strength or just looking for walking buddies, we have a program for you. You’ll make new friends, find accountability, and have fun while working toward a healthier lifestyle.

WINTER TRAINING

Keep your muscles strong and your metabolism boosted over the winter months with a mix of training dedicated to building a variety into your strength training routine.  

CLASS SCHEDULE

Our specialty virtual class meets weekly via Zoom with a LIVE instructor. Participants also have access to the classes on demand. By strengthening your core and improving flexibility, this class will help you improve your conditioning and avoid injury. Start you day right with this quick 30 minute workout!

This 50 minute class provides a great HIIT workout!  We keep you moving through a series of interval rounds of strength and cardio work with a variety of exercises to keep you engaged. We encourage you to bring two sets of dumbbells and a mat to maximize strength training, but will engage in a variety of body weight exercises as well. You will also get a great warm up and cool down as part of our workout experience.
 
This class meets at Olson Middle School in Bloomington, with Coach Stacy. 

Our specialty virtual class meets weekly via Zoom with Coach Stacy. 30 minutes to strengthen and tone!  Up the intensity of your weight training routine to build muscular strength and endurance, with a special focus on core training.  Modifications are available for all fitness levels. Recommended equipment: an exercise mat, resistance bands and weights (5 – 15 pound dumbbells).  Start time is subject to change.

Start the day off right!  Beat the sunshine with us at Centennial Lakes Park with Coach Stacy.  Reflective gear and lights are required.

Join us as we run the beautiful outdoors trails.  Includes a Twin Cities metro-wide Polar Run Club membership. Meet at Lake Harriet Rose Garden with Coach Debi  or Bloomington and Richfield locations with Coach Stacy as announced.

Join us for our fall programming, going on now! Our 8-week boot camp offers strength and cardio interval training to help maximize your metabolism by providing HIIT at your level. Our weekly endurance run helps maintain your running base and increase endurance. 

Yogalates: Mondays 6:30am, or on demand

Interval Training + Strength: Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00pm.  This class meets at Lake Harriet Rose Garden with Coach Makara.

Strong to the Core: Thursdays 6:00am, or on demand

Endurance Run/Walk: Saturdays 8:00am.  Meet at Lake Harriet Rose Garden with Coach Debi or Bloomington and Richfield locations with Coach Stacy as announced.

COACH MAKARA

Makara grew up in Bloomington, MN, and has been running for almost 20 years. She is a Level 1 Certified Running Coach by the Road Runners Club of America and has been coaching for Girls on the Run Minnesota for nearly five years. Her favorite running distance is the half marathon and she’s completed two full marathons.

She is passionate about helping others achieve their goals and breaking down barriers to health and fitness, and is excited to become a part of team Moms on the Run! Outside of running she enjoys walking her dogs, trying new recipes, and reading.

COACH DEBI

Debi leads our Saturday endurance runs. She joined Moms on the Run in spring of 2016 and hasn’t looked back. She started running in her early 20s, but fell out of practice during graduate school. She tried many times to get back into a running a routine, but just couldn’t find the motivation to stick with it until joining the program. Moms on the Run provided the friendships and encouragement she needed to keep after it and she has run many 10Ks, 10-milers, and half marathons since.

 

Debi keeps busy as a middle school teacher by day, and in her free time loves reading, traveling, walking her dog, Berta, and hiking in the many beautiful state parks.

COACH STACY

Hi, my name is Stacy Severson and this is my 9th year coaching with Moms on the Run!  My love of running really developed when I was in college. I was the kid in grade school… and then high school, who dreaded running a mile. I never felt like I “looked” like a runner since I’m 5 ‘3” (with shoes on), and have never been super thin. As I met more runners, I quickly learned that the running community is made up of all ages, shapes and sizes.  If you are working to get out there to run, no matter the pace, you’re a runner! I am not a speedy runner, but have lots of energy and endurance and love running 10 mile and half marathon distances.

I enjoy staying active with my family playing some pretty epic hide and go seek tag, or in the warmer weather months a neighborhood game of kick ball or “ghost in the graveyard.” I know how challenging it can be to fit fitness into your life when you work and have a family, so I get creative.  Sometimes this means running while my kids bike or doing obstacle courses at the park so we can get some strength training in. I also work full-time as Director of Enrollment Development at Augsburg University. ​

I coach with Moms on the Run for the amazing friendships, inclusive community of women, and incredible support! I love the diversity of women in our group and the variety of experiences they share. Seeing our members reach their goals is completely inspiring to me! I love being a part of helping others find joy in the journey and learn to love to run!

COACH STEPHANIE

Stephanie will be coaching the majority of our Virtual Yogalates & Yoga for Runners Classes. Stephanie is passionate about yoga and the health benefits it provides both physically and mentally.

Yoga has been a part of Stephanie’s life since 2005. She received her Registered Yoga Teacher 200-hour certification in November 2014 and has been teaching ever since. She teaches Vinyasa, Hatha, gentle, myofascial release and kids yoga.

Stephanie creates a safe space, a welcoming environment and teaches from a place of compassion that allows students to explore powerful healing and growth.

Destination Weekend: Run the Night, Feb. 20-24, 2025

You are invited to the ultimate running weekend with us as we head to Las Vegas for our destination weekend, Run the Night, Feb. 20-24. Hosted by Moms on the Run and featuring Olympian and National Fitness Director, Carrie Tollefson, this weekend will fill you up with fitness, fun and friendship. Our cornerstone race is Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas, the ultimate running party in the entertainment capital of the world. You may never have so much fun running with live music and iconic landmarks on every corner, enjoying social time with like-minded women, and relaxing by the pool or one of many bars. We have a challenging and beautiful hike planned culminating in a dip in hot springs, as well as time for you to relax, tour or do whatever you wish.

SPRING AND SUMMER

SIGNATURE TRAINING

Our signature training program lets you attend classes from 1 to 5 times per week. We strongly recommend choosing an interval class at least once a week, which includes a higher level of structure and support. From walkers to runners, women will start at their own level and progress throughout the season.

FALL

STRENGTH + CARDIO BOOT CAMP

Our strength and cardio boot camp offers a variety of workout options to help you get fit. We’ll help maximize your metabolism by providing run/walk high intensity interval training (HIIT) at your level. Enhance your fitness level by improving strength, muscle tone, speed and agility.

POLAR RUN AND INDOOR TRAINING

Our Polar run offers you a way to maintain the running endurance you built up during the summer and fall, while staying accountable and motivating during the long, cold winter months.

We also host virtual and indoor strength-training classes.

MARATHON AND HALF MARATHON TRAINING PLANS

Moms on the Run offers training programs and social media groups to current customers who are training for a marathon or half marathon.

Our training plans have been designed by our National Fitness Director, Olympian Carrie Tollefson.
